Top 5 Engagement Ring Trends of 2021
Now that we’re halfway through the crazy year of 2021, we can safely say that nothing, not even a global pandemic can stop people from getting engaged. While people continue to swear their love to each other in the form of Armans Fine Jewellery’s exquisite diamonds, we have noticed common trends when choosing the perfect engagement ring. From the comeback of the classic yellow gold to the focus on statement mismatched wedding bands, check out the most popular engagement ring trends of 2021.
YELLOW GOLD AND ALTERNATIVE ENGAGEMENT BANDS
Yellow gold has increased in popularity recently across all divisions of jewellery - quickly making it’s way to the bridal sector and overthrowing the decade long favourite, white gold. Due to the current pandemic, we have seen an increase in the cost of this metal, thus influencing the perceived value of the timeless, yellow gold engagement ring. If you’re a big fan of yellow gold fashion jewellery, a yellow gold engagement ring will seamlessly match in with your favourite pieces. With the rise of yellow gold there has also been an increase notably of alternating diamonds bands. Contrary to having round diamonds on the band Armans' clients are loving the different diamond shapes now available on engagement bands. From pear shapes, to oval shapes and even marquises - the least favourable out of all the shapes. Our client Siobhan wanted an engagement ring that no one else has and that’s what we delivered - a ring so unique. She is the first person in the world to have something so special both with an alternating diamond band and in yellow Gold! Introducing Fire Ball - shop here.
DAINTY RINGS
Sometimes bigger isn’t always better, especially for the minimalist, modern brides of 2021. Dainty, more delicate designs are perfect for those who appreciate diamonds, but don’t wear much jewellery. Whether you’re after a sophisticated, classic cut stone or more of a cluster ring, this chic style is perfect for everyday wear.
TWO-STONE ENGAGEMENT RINGS
Twice the bling, what’s not to love? Two-stone engagement rings, also known as Toi et Moi rings (French for you and me), feature two gems that sit side by side or close to each other to symbolise two souls becoming one. Celebrity Emily Ratajkowski's now-famous two-stone ring is a perfect example of those opting for non-traditional engagement ring styles.

MISMATCHED WEDDING BANDS
Diamond wedding bands with mismatched diamonds to the centre stone on the engagement ring is an increasingly popular style this year. When selected correctly, these bold bands compliment the engagement ring - but doesn’t steal it’s thunder! See one of our clients' mismatched wedding bands below. Custom made, we added an element of a curved mismatch band so it flows with the Oval and boy oh boy does this look amazing.
OVAL STYLE
When it comes to traditional favourites, there is nothing quite as elegant as an oval diamond when it comes to engagement ring. Australian actress Pia Loyola, formerly known as Pia miller, said yes to a larger than life oval diamond from Hollywood talent agent Patrick Whitesell in November 2020. This proposal helped influence the increasing popularity of this style over the last few years. Jewellers are finding ways to showcase this style in a modern way, whether it be an oval diamond ring with side diamonds or a halo, you can make this look your own.
